GREENSBORO, N.C (WCTV) -- The Atlantic Coast Conference basketball tournament will be held with limited attendance starting with Thursday's game, according to a statement issued Wednesday evening.
The decision arrived after the conference met with league presidents and athletic directors, according to the statement.
"[I]t was determined that beginning Thursday, March 12, all games will be played with only essential tournament personnel, limited school administrators and student-athlete guests, broadcast television and credentialed media members present," according to the statement.
NCAA President Mark Emmert released a statement on Wednesday saying postseason games, including men's and women's tournament games, will be played in front of only "essential staff and limited family."
This is a developing story. WCTV will continue to release more information online and on air.
