NEW YORK, N.Y. (WCTV) -- The Arizona Diamondbacks have drafted FSU pitcher and Lincoln High School alum Tyler Holton in the ninth round of the 2018 MLB Draft.
Holton missed all of 2018 after tearing his UCL in his first start of the season.
In his two full years with the Noles, Holton is 13-7 with a 2.44 ERA and has struck out 234 batters compared to walking just 65.
Holton also does damage at the plate, having slashed .233/.337/.425 in two years with the Noles.
The Tallahassee native has been drafted previously, by the Miami Marlins in the 35th round of last year's draft.
Holton is the fifth Seminole to be selected in this year's draft, following Cal Raleigh, Cole Sands, Andrew Karp and Jackson Lueck.
