TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) -- Chiles High School has a new head of their boys basketball program, as Rick Davis has been hired by the Timberwolves, the school announced on Monday.

Davis was previously the boys head coach for Leon High School, where he coached since 2010. Davis lead Leon to a 16-12 overall record in 2017/18.

The Timberwolves went 8-16 this past season.

In an e-mail to WCTV, Leon athletic director Mark Feely said the following about moving to fill the boys basketball position, as well as had high praise for what Davis did with the Lions.

"I will get with my principal, Billy Epting, to determine what our next steps are. We will advertise for the open Boys Basketball position and try to get someone in before the end of the school year. It's a very important position to us, so we will start excepting resumes immediately. Coach Davis did a wonderful job for us and I am sad to see him go. I think of him as a great coach, a great friend and a class act. I wish him luck."
