FAMU women fall to rival-BCU

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) -- FAMU Women's Basketball fell 64-41 to rival Bethune-Cookman Monday at the Al Lawson Center.

FAMU (3-15, 1-4 MEAC) fell behind in the first half and scored just a single point in the first quarter.

Bethune-Cookman led 29-14 at halftime, and FAMU cut BCU's lead to just 8 after the end of three quarters, but BCU ran away in the fourth quarter to win 64-41.

Junior Dawn King led FAMU with 11 points, the lone Rattler to score in double figures.

Kendra Cooper led Bethune-Cookman with 18 points, while Ashanti Hunt grabbed a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds.

FAMU hosts Maryland-Eastern Shore in the Lawson Center next Monday. Tip off is at 6:00 p.m.
