TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) -- When you talk to Lonni Alameda, she talks about humility and how it takes a village, and how when things like a national championship are won, it's not one person.
It's every player, every coach and, especially, every fan. It's because of the fans that, this weekend, the team will hold its first-ever fan day.
The Seminoles softball team will sign autographs, take pictures and hold a public scrimmage.
While they're excited to perform on the field, the team is even more anxious to meet the fans who helped cheer them on during last year's magical run.
"They're a big part of the journey," Alameda said. "Everyone loves being around the student athletes and watching them grow as people so we really tie into that big connection part."
Fan day will be held on Saturday at Joanne Graf Field starting at 2 p.m. The team will scrimmage at 2:30 p.m.
