TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) -- It's been a slow start to the 2018 season for the Florida State football team and on Tuesday, CBSSports.com included them in a less than desirable rankings.
In Tom Fornelli's weekly Bottom 25 rankings, he inverts the typical rankings system of college athletics; instead of sorting the top programs in the nation, he sorts the bottom programs.
This week saw a new entry onto his list; Florida State.
Avoiding a spot in last week's list after eking out a win against Samford, the Noles come in at #22 on the list.
"I already wrote a lot of words about Florida State and its problems this week, and you can read them there," Fornelli explained in his write up. "TL;DR (Too long; didn't read) version is this: I'm not sure we should expect the Noles to dig themselves out of this mess quickly."
The Noles aren't the only ACC program in the list this week, as they're joined by North Carolina, who Fornelli ranks #6.
Arkansas (#23), Purdue (#13), Nebraska (#10) and UCLA (38) join FSU and UNC as the Power 5 conference teams in the rankings.
Fornelli's full Bottom 25 rankings can be seen below.
