TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) -- Three months ago, if you came across the name Devin Vassell, you most likely wouldn't have known who that was. But, after Monday's comeback win against Notre Dame, there's a good chance you'll remember the name.
Florida State's freshman guard helped lead the Seminoles to their 68-61 comeback win over the Fighting Irish, leading the Noles in scoring with 13 points and went 3-for-3 from behind the arc and nabbed seven rebounds.
While he may be young, the Georgian native has been a spark plug for the team.
Even following their tough road loss on Saturday against UNC, when others looked tired from their three-game road trip, Vassell had a bounce in his step.
A bounce FSU will need if they want to make a run in March.
"It was a great feeling just being able to go out there and contribute and be able to help the team is always a great feeling," Vassell said following FSU's win. "Coach Ham always says that six through 12 is just as important as one through five. We have great coaches, great teammates always encouraging me to be able to go out there and just play my best game and with people like that, it really helps me."
FSU has won nine of their last 10 games and host NC State on Saturday. Tip off is set for 12 p.m.
