TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) -- Florida State football made waves on Wednesday when it announced that the players have chosen to wear all black uniforms in the Seminoles' season opening contest against the Virginia Tech Hokies on Labor Day night.
The decision marks only the second time that FSU will have worn its current alternate set, unveiled in 2014, since a 52-13 victory over Chattanooga in 2015. It's also only the fifth time ever the 'Noles have traded in their traditional home garnet and gold for the all black uniforms.
The preceding video takes a look at the highlights (and lowlights) of FSU's all black looks, including their debut against Boston College in 2006, Florida State's first victory in the uniforms against Duke in 2007 and the aforementioned game against Chattanooga in 2015.
