TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) -- For the first time this season, the Florida State basketball team finds itself out of the Associated Press Top 25 poll.
The new rankings, released on Monday, omit Florida State, who lost to Pitt and Boston College, both on the road, this week to see their ACC record fall to 1-4.
The Seminoles opened the season ranked 17th and got as high as number nine.
FSU was slotted as the #11 team in the country last week. The Noles did receive the most votes of anyone not in the Top 25 this week.
The new #1 team is Tennessee, followed by Duke, Virginia, Gonzaga and Michigan.
There are no teams from the Sunshine State in this week's poll but there are six ACC teams represented: #2 Duke, #3 Virginia, #10 Virginia Tech, #11 UNC, #21 NC State and #23 Louisville.
