TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) -- Florida State quarterback Deondre Francois and FSU defensive end Brian Burns have been named ACC Players of the Week following FSU's victory over Wake Forest on Saturday.
Francois was named the conference's Quarterback of the Week, completing 29 of his 40 attempted passes for 353 yards and two touchdowns without turning the ball over or succumbing to a sack.
His 353 passing yards are the most he's compiled this season and Francois' 29 completions are his best mark in a conference game this year.
Burns has been honored with this week's Defensive Lineman of the Week.
Against the Demon Deacons, Burns recorded four tackles, 2 sacks and 2 tackles for loss. One of those sacks played a pivotal role in swinging the game in FSU's favor early after the Noles had difficulties stopping Wake's no-huddle offense, as he brought down quarterback Sam Hartman on a big fourth down play in the first half.
The Fort Lauderdale native ranks second in the country in sacks per game, with 1.29, and has 9.0 sacks this season.
The duo join DeCalon Brooks and D.J. Matthews to have received weekly conference honors in 2018.
FSU takes on Clemson this Saturday at 12 p.m.
