TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) -- The Florida State men's basketball team may be getting hot at the right time. With over a month until the ACC tournament, the 'Noles are coming off consecutive victories against Clemson and Miami.
While their fate come tournament time is still to be determined, one thing is for sure: freshman guard Devin Vassell has been a welcomed addition to the garnet and gold.
The Suwannee, Georgia native is averaging over four points per game, but he shines bright beyond the stat sheet. He plays with defensive tenacity, just what Leonard Hamilton likes.
Vassell says, while he's still acclimating to the college game, he's thriving all the same.
"I feel great right now," he said. "My teammates all say just go get treatment and let your body rest, 'cause it's a long season so everyday after practice, you've got to go and get treatment.
"It's a team game and I'm just ready to help my team however it is," he continued. "Whether it's defensively, a rebound, steals, however I need to, I'm trying to help my team to win."
