TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) -- Tyler Holton is leaving the Florida State baseball program, announcing he's signing with the Arizona Diamondbacks.
MLB.com reporter Kris Dunn was first to report the news.
In his Instagram post, Holton thanks the Diamondbacks, as well as his parents, teammates and coaches at FSU, and ends his post with "go D-Backs."
Arizona selected Holton in the 10th round on Tuesday in the MLB Draft, making him the fifth Seminole to be taken this year.
Holton ends his career with FSU with a 13-7 record and a 2.44 ERA on the bound, and a slash line of .233/.337/.425 offensively.
The Lincoln High School product was drafted in the 35th round by the Miami Marlins in the 2017 draft.
Holton made just one start with FSU in 2018 and left after tearing his UCL. He did not see the field again this season.
