NEW YORK, N.Y. (WCTV) -- The Kansas City Royals have drafted FSU outfielder Rhett Aplin in the 28th round of the 2018 MLB Draft.

Aplin is the second Seminole to be drafted by the Royals this year, joining Jackson Lueck who was drafted in the eighth round by KC.
The Fleming Island native has spent two years with the Noles after joining FSU from the JUCO ranks, and hit .298 with two home runs and 33 RBI in 2018.
In total with the Noles, Aplin slashed .327/.415/.487 with 18 home runs and 108 RBI.
Aplin is the first Seminole to be drafted on the third day of the draft, and is the sixth FSU draftee overall this year, along with Cal Raleigh, Cole Sands, Andrew Karp, Lueck and Tyler Holton.
