TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) -- The Florida State Seminoles are in search of their first win under new head coach Willie Taggart and hope to get their offense in better sync on Saturday against the Samford Bulldogs.

Below will be a running live blog of tonight's second game of the season for Florida State, where you'll find game updates and analysis from the WCTV Sports team.

For live, up-to-the-minute updates, be sure you're following myself and WCTV Sports on Twitter.

That was a wild one and, quite frankly, one FSU had no business winning.

We'll have a full recap on the site soon.

4th Quarter, 9:59 - FSU 21 - Samford 23

Aguayo misses a 42-yard field goal attempt that hits the goal posts. It's his second miss of the day.

And on a drive the Seminoles were moving so well on, too.

4th Quarter, 12:20 - FSU 21 - Samford 23

Samford was moving the ball with ease, with Hodges having as much time as he needed to complete throws to his receivers, but he misfired while trying to target McKnight and found Kyle Meyers instead.

FSU's fourth forced turnover on the night.

That...was not a pretty quarter of football.

3rd Quarter, 0:29 - FSU 21 - Samford 23

That was the ugliest drive of the day, maybe of the early season, for FSU so far. The Noles commit three penalties in a span of four plays and go 18 yards in five plays.

3rd Quarter, 7:05 - FSU 21 - Samford 23

Same thing as below, but flip the script. Hodges was trying to make a play out of nothing but threw too in front of his receiver, Kentre'Vious Williams, and it was picked off by Kyle Myers.

FSU ball deep in their own territory.

3rd Quarter, 8:42 - FSU 21 - Samford 23

FSU turns it over for the first time tonight, as Cam Akers fumbles the ball as he goes to the ground after contact.

It was looking to be a good play for FSU, as Francois attempted to avoid a sack and he dumped it to Akers, but he coughed the ball up.

3rd Quarter, 9:48 - FSU 21 - Samford 23

Not a lot has happened since the turn of the quarter. Samford has had two drives and have punted twice, FSU went for it on fourth down just past midfield and was unsuccessful.

Second Noles drive of the half is upcoming, as they attempt to put together something...really, anything.

I thought this would be a close game, even within a touchdown, at halftime, I didn't think we'd see a wire-to-wire lead for Samford in the first half.

This is the first time since 2009 (Jacksonville State) the Noles have trailed an FCS team at halftime.

2nd Quarter, 1:19 - FSU 21 - Samford 23

Following a forced fumble by FSU after the Noles miss a field goal, Francois stands in the pocket, takes a big hit and finds Tamorrion Terry at the goal line, who falls in for a score. It’s a 17-yard TD pass, and the Noles trail 23-21 with 1:19 left in the first half.

Francois was slow to get up after the play, though.

2nd Quarter, 8:37 - FSU 14 - Samford 23

FSU is unable to do anything with the interception and put it away to Samford who takes it 87 yards in 90 seconds (six plays) and Hodges/McKnight hook up again on a 27-yard touchdown.

23-14 is the Samford lead.

2nd Quarter, 11:38 - FSU 14 - Samford 16

Samford was moving the ball well and was set up at the FSU 29 before a tipped pass lands in the hands of AJ Westbrook for a 33-yard return.

Noles are in business at the Samford 48.

2nd Quarter, 13:56 - FSU 14 - Samford 16

FSU puts the cap on an eight play, 70-yard drive with an eight-yard touchdown rush from Francois on a beautiful option play in which he kept it and ran straight down the middle of the field for his first rushing touchdown of the season.

I'll give Samford credit though - they were able to keep their offense going after the last FSU touchdown, so we'll see what their response (and the FSU defensive response) will be upcoming.

Yes, the first quarter is just now ending.

1st Quarter, 1:32 - FSU 7 - Samford 16

Samford gets a big play in the form of a 55-yard reception by Andrew Harris, but the Noles defense stands tall from their own 13 yardline (thanks to a couple of incomplete passes thrown into the end zone).

The field goal is good as Samford adds to their lead.

1st Quarter, 4:03 - FSU 7 - Samford 13

Well, there you have it folks, the first Noles touchdown of the year!

And on a beautiful pass from Deondre Francois, who found Tamorrion Terry in stride on a 27-yard touchdown pass.

George Campbell was the MVP on that drive, after receiving passes of 10 and 26 yards to set up the score. The Noles look to be in business.

1st Quarter, 7:49 - FSU 0 - Samford 13

Samford made that look easy - they drive 75 yards in seven plays spanning two minutes and 56 seconds and take a two-score lead on the Seminoles.

Samford QB Delvin Hodges is perfect after two drives, going 6-for-6 with 106 yards and a touchdown.

Four of those catches have been by Kelvin McKnight, who has 87 yards, including the long 53-yard touchdown.

FSU is simply not matching up well in one-on-one situations on defense, especially with conrerbacks.

1st Quarter, 12:23 - FSU 0 - Samford 6

FSU showed some slow progress on their first possesson, including a nice 11-yard pick up by Nyquan Murray from Francois, but ended up punting it away to Samford who struck on their first play from scrimmage with a 54-yard touchdown pass from Delvin Hodges to Kelvin McKnight.

On the ensuing kickoff, Khalan Laborn returned it for 21 yards, but was slow to get off the field and was placed on a cart to be taken off the field.

PREGAME, 7:35 p.m.

We have a start time! 8:45 p.m. is the scheduled start for kickoff.

The in-stadium countdown clock has been reset.

PREGAME, 6:55 p.m.

We are officially in a lightning delay here at Doak, and the countdown clock has been stopped at 47:16.

FSU has announced they'll honor tickets of fans who have left the stadium during the delay.

However, as the case was with our first update, they haven't forced fans out of the stands yet, and the crowd is slowly starting to fill the stadium.

Hello, everyone and welcome back for an FSU football live blog! I'm unsure if it'll affect the start of the game, but we are currently in a weather delay with about 51 minutes before kickoff. Both the Seminoles and Samford have cleared the field from their pre-game warm ups, and there is no media to be found on the outside of the field.

There are still fans in the stands, however, so that should bear a good sign.
