TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) -- Florida State tips off their basketball season on Friday in their first exhibition against West Florida.

The Seminoles are coming off a trip to the Elite Eight and return some of their top contributors from last season: Phil Cofer, who averaged 12.6 points and 5.1 rebounds last year; Trent Forest, who logged 7.9 points and 4.9 boards a season ago; and Terance Mann.

Mann was the Seminoles second leading scorer last season, netting 12.6 points per night and led FSU in rebounding, hauling 5.4 rebounds.

The Massachusetts native says he feels despite last year's success, this year's team is being overlooked.

It's why he keeps motivation in his locker, and in his mind, as the Noles get set to start the season.

"We just use a lot of stuff as motivation," Mann said. "Not being able to make it to the Final Four last year as motivation, going 9-9 in the ACC regular season as motivation, so we just take a lot of things, post them in our head and use that as motivation to kind of gel together."
