TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) -- For people in Tallahassee, Saturday's game between Duke and Florida State means a great afternoon of basketball. Unless, you're two local teenagers who say, to them, the game means so much more.

What turns people into best friends?

For 14-year-olds William and Slater, their shared love of all things basketball is the basis for their friendship.

"My grandparents live up in Durham and so when we go to visit them up in the summer, I'm just around it a-lot," Slater said. "And one year we got to go to Duke basketball camp."

That camp that the duo attended in 2014 turned these Tallahassee boys into die-hard Duke fans.

Wiliam added"I fell in love with it; the campus, the coaching staff there and even the players just walking around. It was a really cool experience.”

When asked why their loyalty is to Duke, the duo says it goes beyond their winning record.

“I really want to see the way they play because they all play together," said Slater.

That teamwork he speaks of stems from one of its players, Zion Williamson.

William stated, "He's crazy athletic and watching him dunk and stuff will be insane."

But what really sealed the deal for these guys was getting to meet and play for the infamous Coach K.

"Meeting him in the flesh was awesome and hopefully i'll be able to play for him one day before he retires," William recalled.

William and Slater are looking forward to seeing their team play on Saturday. While they say FSU does have a strong chance of winning, their money is still on Duke to come out victorious.

“I think it'll be a close game in the first half because it's always close," William predicted.

When I asked the boys if they saw basketball in their future, Slater said if he could play for Duke. that would be pretty incredible.
