Valdosta State announces 2019 football schedule

VALDOSTA, Ga. (WCTV) -- The Valdosta State Blazers have announced their 2019 football schedule, the first under new head coach Gary Goff.

The Blazer's schedule totals five home and road games and no back-to-back road matchups.

VSU opens their title defense with a road matchup against Albany State on September 7 before hosting Ohio Dominican (Sept. 14) and West Alabama (Sept. 21) for their first two home games of the season and to start conference play.

The Blazers alternate home and road games for the remainder of the season, welcoming Mississippi College (October 5), Florida Tech for homecoming (Oct. 19) and West Florida (November 9) while visiting Shorter (Sept. 28), Delta State (Oct. 12) and North Greenville (Oct. 26).

VSU's regular season comes to a close on November 16 when they'll travel to Carrollton, Georgia to take on West Georgia for the Battle for the Peach Basket.

The Blazers are coming off of their first perfect season in school history.
