VALDOSTA, Ga. (WCTV) -- In horror, the best monsters are the ones that can't die, the ones that just keep coming, the ones that make demise seem inevitable.

The monster known as Valdosta State football has reawakened and now a well-rested Blazers squad is setting out for its final two games against West Florida and West Georgia.

"We got a jump start on that for West Florida but we also got a chance to get our guys in treatment and get our guys 100 percent healthy, so I feel good about our football team, said VSU head coach Kerwin Bell. "They came back Sunday very locked in."

But, the Blazers know their prey from Pensacola won't go down without a fight. With UWF sitting square on the playoff bubble, Bell knows the Argonauts can spook the best of them.

"They're playing for their playoff life right now, they've got to win out and so they're going to give us their very best, they had a really good game last week against North Greenville, played really well," Bell said.

After the Argos, it's a home date with current one-seeded West Georgia.

Bell knows his team is fortunate the Wolves will have to visit the Blazers' nightmare on Williams Street.

"I told our guys, 'let's take ownership in that, let's enjoy the moment,' because you don't get a lot of these moments where you're 8-0, you're playing two of the best football teams to go challenge you. Now let's go see how we compare against those guys," he said.

An undefeated team in charge of its own destiny? A scary thought indeed.
