Taste of Thomasville Food Tours

Location: The tours focuses on Downtown Thomasville with a stroll to the Big Oak.

As we walk through downtown Thomasville, you will taste several state and national award winning foods not often found is small towns. And of course, no trip to Thomasville is complete without a trip to see the oldest Live Oak east of the Mississippi River…The Big Oak!

Jonah's Shrimp and Grits
Sample a bowl full of shrimp and grits that were featured in Southern Living.

Sweetgrass Dairy Cheese Shop
A taste of two of American Cheese Society Award winning cheeses that is made in Thomasville.

George and Louis' Seafood
A Greek restaurant with a little southern flair. You will sample their fried green tomatoes, crabcakes, and a true Greek salad that are considered two of Georgia's Best 100 bites.

Moonspin Pizza
A true pizzeria that serves a pizza on a sour dough crust, with sausage that comes from a 100 year old store that makes and smokes their own meats.

Grassroots Coffee
A small batch roasting facility, where they roast coffee twice a week. You will sample fresh French pressed coffee and cold brew coffees from different part of the world.

Marie's Kakes
Marie's signature butter cookies in the shape of Georgia and Thomasville marked with a heart. The cookies are both delicious and beautiful!

Victorian Sweets Tour

Duration: Approximately 2 hours

Location: Downtown Thomasville

$30 - No private tours with this event. Tours will only be Dec. 12, 13, 14, during Victorian Christmas Events.

Come experience what Christmas might have been like during the Victorian Era through sweets and drinks.

  • Taste the wonderful desserts that can be found in Thomasville.
  • Each restaurant will be paired with a shop. The shops will be serving a beverage that will compliment the dessert.
  • Experience Victorian Christmas during the day
  • Tour are at 10:00, 1:00, and 3:00 during the Victorian Christmas Festivities


What to Expect




Your tour guide will greet you at the Visitor’s Center dressed in Victorian attire. We will stroll through Downtown Thomasville sampling desserts made by local restaurants/shops but served, with beverages, in some of our wonder shops downtown. You will experience the history of Downtown Thomasville during the Christmas Season during the Victorian Era.

Where to Meet
The tour will begin in the Visitor's Center, 114 East Jackson St. Guest can park on Jackson, Crawford or in the Municipal Building parking lot.
