SANFORD, Fla. (AP) — A judge has ruled that former radio host Shannon Burke may go to marriage counseling sessions with the wife he shot in the head, but he can't see her anywhere else.
A judge ruled Thursday that the couple can meet to salvage their marriage.
Catherine Burke filed for divorce in May.
The two were married July 28, 2008.
Authorities say Burke was at his Altamonte Springs home the night of April 30 when he fired a shot that went through his dog's leg and then grazed his wife.
Burke told deputies that he had become angry with the animal and began waiving around the gun, which he thought was unloaded.
Several days after the shooting, Clear Channel Communications terminated 44-year-old Burke's contract.
He had hosted a show on Real Radio 104.1.
