Students With Disabilities To Work With Leon County

By  |

The Leon County Commission will continue to take steps to diversify its employee base... by mentoring young adults with disabilities.
The Commission decided Tuesday night to partner with the Agency for Persons with Disabilities and participate in "Project Search".
The program aims to help high school students with disabilities learn to transition from school to the work force.
"And this is a chance to get them out, show them what it is like to have a job in a work environment and hopefully then that blossoms into something a little bit more long term and something where they have a little bit of a career path," explains Bryan Desloge, Leon County Commission Chairperson.
Project Search is a one-year program designed to give students with disabilities the skills and training to get a job.
