Dozens of family members, friends, and supporters came together at the Tallahassee Regional Airport Thursday morning as the body of a fallen soldier was returned home.

Our cameras were rolling as the community welcomed the hero as his body was transported to a local funeral home.

23-year-old Private First Class Brandon M. King's body was transported to Cully's Meadow Wood Funeral Home.

The community came out to pay their respects to the solider who died last Wednesday in Afghanistan in an attack by anti-Afghan forces.

Many supporters held American flags along Riggins Road saluting the arrival of King's body and his family.

Fellow soldiers carried King's casket into the funeral home.

Supporters say King's service to his country meant so much to them and honoring him is the least they could do.

Dennis Foggy with Order of the Purple Heart says, "We're out here to strictly honor the service and sacrifice that Private King in this case has laid at the altar of freedom and showing the American flag is very, very appropriate."

The mother of PFC Anthony Simmons' also came out to join the overwhelming support from community in honor of private King.

PFC King's funeral will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday at Christian Heritage Church.
