Tallahassee FL- Many of you will be gathering with family and friends for Thanksgiving dinner, but there are others who can't afford the fancy spread or may not have anyone to share it with.

Fortunately organizations in Florida's Capital city are coming together to provide your family with a free meal.

"Well this is going to be traditional Thanksgiving," says Vickie Goodman, the coordinator of Tallahassee Community Thanksgiving Celebration. She explained that means turkey, pumpkin pie, mashed potatoes-- lumps included, and of course gravy will all be served during the Tallahassee Community Thanksgiving Celebration.

Every year Goodman and her group of volunteers come together to serve more than eight hundred people Thanksgiving dinner.

"We just love it! It brings everybody together it's such a wonderful feel good. Its like feeling embraced in a giant hug. You know?"
While Dozens of volunteers will put on their Community Thanksgiving T-Shirts and help this Thursday.

Every organization providing a free meal could use some help. A few organizations still looking for volunteers and food in Tallahassee include The Salvation Army's Thanksgiving, Project Annie and St. Marks Street Community Thanksgiving.

Goodman explained, "Volunteering means doing everything from picking up the trash to serving the people talking and chatting helping to clean the dishes so understand when you join our family you join our family and get to do the good stuff and the bad stuff too! And enjoy it all it's a great time."
