Tallahassee Man Sentenced in Deadly DUI Crash

A Tallahassee man is sentenced in a deadly drunk driving crash.

This afternoon, 24 year old Randie Samuel was sentenced to 15 years in prison followed by five years on probation.

Samuel's car overturned in a wreck on West Tennessee Street back in October 2014.

A passenger, 19 year old Andrea "Kayla" Bishop, was killed.

Police say Samuel initially left the scene, but came back more than an hour later.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- Court records show this afternoon a jury found Randie Samuel guilty of DUI manslaughter and leaving the scene of a deadly accident.

Samuel was facing charges in a West Tennessee Street crash that killed 19-year-old Andrea 'Kayla' Bishop last year.

Samuel will be sentenced on December 22nd.

Tallahassee -

A Tallahassee man accused of leaving the scene of a deadly crash is now on trial.

Randie Samuel is facing DUI manslaughter charges in the death of 19 year old Andrea 'Kayla' Bishop.

She was killed in a collision on West Tennessee Street in October 2014.

Tallahassee Police say Samuel left the scene of the crash, but came back about an hour and a half later.

Samuel's trial is expected to wrap up Thursday.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- A Tallahassee man charged with DUI Manslaughter after a Hit and Run in October of 2014 has been arrested after breaking conditions of his pre-trial release.

23-Year-Old Randie Samuel previously faced multiple hit and run charges and now faces a DUI Manslaughter charge as well as leaving the scene of a crash involving personal injury. His Blood Alcohol Content tested for .134 over the legal limit in Florida of .08.

Samuel was arrested Tuesday for violating conditions of his pre-trial release by testing positive for alcohol during urine test in June.

Samuel had left the scene of the accident in October but told police he had returned to see if everyone was okay and had originally left because he was "in shock."

Two passengers were injured in the two vehicle accident and 19-year-old Andrea Bishop was killed.

Tallahassee, FL - The Tallahassee Police Department now says the driver of the vehicle that overturned fled from the scene.

Passengers in the car told police that 23-year-old Randie Samuel Jr. left the scene of the crash shortly after it happened. They also said 20-year-old Vincent Severance, a passenger in the vehicle, fled the scene.

Police located both Samuel and Severance in the area around 2am.

Severance was not charged.

Because Samuel was the driver of the vehicle, he is charged with one count of hit and run, failure to remain at a crash involving a death and one count of hit and run, failure to remain at a crash involving injury.

October 25, 2014 - 10:30am

On 10/25/14 at approximately 12:33am, the Tallahassee Police Department responded to 2168 W. Tennessee Street in reference to a traffic crash with injuries. Both vehicles were traveling westbound on west Tennessee Street when vehicle 1 crashed into vehicle 2. Vehicle 1 overturned as a result of the crash. Two (2) of the passengers of vehicle 1 were transported to a local hospital to be treated for their injuries, and the other passenger was pronounced deceased on scene by EMS.
