TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- The Junior League of Tallahassee (JLT) will host the 2015 Whale of a Sale, the community's largest yard sale Friday, February 27 and Saturday, February 28 at the former Harvey's Supermarket located at 5010 West Tennessee Street. This year's sale is presented by AMWAT Moving, Warehousing and Storage and is JLT's largest fundraiser since 1974.

Whale of a Sale has grown to be Tallahassee's largest yard sale, featuring great deals on new and used furniture, clothes, house wares, toys, sporting goods, appliances, books, music and more. Along with the opportunity to enjoy early shopping, community members are also invited to join the JLT for the Big Food Truck Bash on Friday night from 5:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. The Bash will feature more than five local food trucks and a beer garden. Admission to the Bash is free and preview shopping tickets are $5. On Saturday, the sale continues from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and shopping admission is $2.

All proceeds from the event go directly back into JLT community projects and partnerships. The JLT currently partners with Girls on the Run of the Big Bend, an organization that works to inspire girls to be healthy and confident using experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running. The JLT also partners with the Boys and Girls Club of the Big Bend, an organization dedicated to the enablement of young people to reach their full potential as productive, caring, and responsible citizens. League members work with these organizations and others to supply trained volunteers and help accomplish each organization's mission.

Aside from working with community partners, the JLT hosts two annual community projects which impact the lives of young people in Leon County and the surrounding areas. Kids' Boutique is an event that provides back-to-school clothing and school supplies to children in need with help of Kohl's. Additionally, the League hosts Operation Prom Dress during the prom season which outfits students from Gretchen Everhart School and local deserving teens with prom attire.

The Junior League of Tallahassee would like to thank our sponsors: AMWAT, TALCOR, Rowland Publishing, Southeastern Plastic Surgery, Growing Room, Esposito Lawn & Garden, Earth Fare, Jason's Deli, Loli and the Bean, Tallahassee Nurseries, Karmanos Printing, Kohl's, American Audio Visual, Seminole Tennis Camps, Holy Comforter Episcopal, North Florida Financial Corp, AC2 Designs, Full Press Apparel, Proof Brewing Co, and Marpan.
