Vehicle Fire on I-10, Driver Taken to Hospital [SLIDE SHOW]

Tallahassee, FL - According to a Florida Highway Patrol trooper on scene, the adult female driver sustained burns. Only one person was involved in the accident. The driver was taken to hospital by EMS.

Mike Bellamy, with the Tallahassee Fire Department reports that the vehicle caught on fire while the driver was driving Eastbound on I-10, just west of the North Monroe/I-10 interchange. The driver pulled over and called 911. TFD extinguished the fire on scene.

The scene is west of Monroe and I-10 in the eastbound lane.

At 11:33 a.m., the Tallahassee Fire Department received a call for a vehicle on fire traveling Eastbound on I-10 just West of the I-10/North Monroe interchange. The driver and only occupant of the vehicle was out of the truck when firefighters arrived. Firefighters extinguished the fire and assisted Leon County EMS with treating the driver who received burns. The driver was transported to a local hospital for further care. FHP was also on scene at the incident.

The driver of the vehicle sustained minor burns and is being taken to the hospital.

Traffic flow is resuming as normal.

A reporter on scene says traffic is stopped along I-10 Eastbound. Smoke is in the air and the Tallahassee Fire Department is on scene.

Tallahassee, FL - The Florida Highway Patrol is reporting a vehicle accident with a fire on I-10 Eastbound Mile Marker 199.

Tallahassee Fire Department is responding to the scene.
