Valdosta, GA - A Lake Park man is behind bars, accused of shooting a Valdosta woman after firing his weapon in to the air.

Valdosta Police say a local woman ran in to the KFC on North Ashley Street Saturday, telling employees she had been shot in the arm. She says she was driving out of the Ora Lee Housing Complex when a man shot at her car. Employees at the KFC called 9-1-1, and police later found the suspect and the gun.

"He was not able to give a good reason why he was firing the weapon. Apparently one of the stray bullets hit the woman as she was driving out of the complex. She was transported by EMS to South Georgia Medical Center and was treated and released that night", says Lt. Aaron Kirk, with the Valdosta Police Department.

20-year-old Steven Jolly of Lake Park has been charged with Aggravated Assault and Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Crime. He is currently being held at the Lowndes County Jail.
