VSU Handed Tough Loss by UNA

Valdosta State's hoped for the postseason came to a crashing end when North Alabam defeated the Blazers 62-27. The 62 points by the Lions, the most points ever scored against Valdosta. Now, early on this might have been a different story.
UNA head football coach Terry Bowden says, "The biggest point was the fumble on the opening kickoff and losing Preston Parker for the game, and us holding them without a score. Right there, I think the tempo could have been established by them. It was established by us when we made the mistake, and from that point forward, we carried the game from that point forward."
VSU head football coach David Dean adds, "Disappointed that we let that opportunity get away and that's what I was talking about. We had so many opportunities. We had a couple of turnovers opportunities that we didn't take advantage of early. It's disappointing that we weren't able to capitalize, especially on that one. They're obviously the best team in the country. If anybody is better than them, I'd like to see it."
Once again, the final score - UNA defeats VSU 62-27. Valdosta State now falls to 4-4 on the season and 4-3 in conference play, and now they must regroup for another intense rival that they have - West Georgia. That will be next week.
