ADEL, Ga. (WCTV) – A man is facing multiple charges after his wife's body was discovered in Cook County, the same day she was reported missing by a family member.

Officials with the Adel Police Department say they received a call around 9:30 a.m. Monday to report Kimberly Williams, 45, as missing. A family member stated Williams could not be found at her residence in the 1400 block of Pebblewood Drive.

Officers responded to the home and were unable to locate Williams. APD says during the investigation, Williams' body was uncovered near Lavind Street. Williams’ body will be transported to the GBI Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy.

Williams' husband, 40-year-old Anthony Jerome Williams, was arrested in connection to her death. He has been charged with malice murder, felony murder, aggravated assault and concealing a death. Anthony Williams was transported to the Cook County Jail.

Kimberly Williams was an employee of the Cook County Sheriff’s Office. Sheriff Doug Hanks says all the members of the sheriff’s office, as well as all local law enforcement officers and the public, mourn the loss of Williams.
