THOMASVILLE, Ga. (WALB) – On Wednesday night, the Thomasville community will come together to remember a teenager killed in a two-car crash.

Levi Knop, a senior baseball player at Thomasville High School, was killed in a crash on US Highway 319 early Tuesday morning.

The Georgia State Patrol says Knop and 18-year-old Anna McBride were both driving north on US-319 when their vehicles collided.

Knop was killed when his truck traveled off of the road and struck a tree. McBride was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.

Troopers say both teenagers were wearing a seat belt. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

A GoFundMe page was quickly set up in Knop's honor, with people donating more than $23,000 in just 11 hours. Others left comments on the page praying for his family.

A candlelight vigil will be held at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at The Biscuit Company in Thomasville. Funeral services are also expected to be announced on Wednesday.
