VALDOSTA, Ga. (WCTV) -- The Christmas craze is starting in Valdosta.
The start of a new month means the start of a new holiday season for many stores in Valdosta, as they change from black and orange decorations to red and green.
Valdosta shopper Emaria Williams said she's ready for the holidays.
"It's that time, you just feel like, oh it's Christmas," Williams said.
In Valdosta, tree farms are already starting to stand, and many stores are already starting to look like the North Pole.
The Flower Gallery said they have been getting ready for Christmas for two months and every year it seems to come up quicker.
"There's more happiness it seems like going on," said owner Susan Mullis. "I just think people are ready for more cheer and happiness, I feel like they're ready, things are getting better and our economy has gotten and stronger."
Some shoppers are split on feeling the Christmas craze. Others said the holiday cheer can be contagious, and make you spend a bit more cash.
"You need to go get it, you don't want to be last minute and be waiting on your items, or you don't want to run out of it items," said shopper Adrian Stanley.
Those feeling festive remember what it's all about.
"We love Christmas, it's all about Jesus Christ, we just want to help celebrate that," Mullis said.
The City of Valdosta in now starting its Mayor's Motorcade donation drive. Items can be collected at Fire Station #1.
Next month gifts will be donated to residents at the Parkwood Developmental Center.
