BAKER COUNTY, Ga. (WCTV) -- The Georgia Department of Transportation is reporting a sinkhole in Baker County.

GDOT says the sinkhole caused damage to the westbound lane of State Road 37.

Officials say approximately three to four feet of pavement fell into the sinkhole, but the void under the pavement is even larger, at approximately 12 feet wide.

Repairs began Wednesday morning. Crews have closed the westbound lane of SR 37 in the area and traffic is being shifted to the eastbound lane.
