GAINESVILLE, Ga. (AP) -- Officials continue searching for the body of a missing Atlanta man they say jumped into Lake Lanier to help a friend who was having trouble swimming.

Local news outlets report 28-year-old Corey Lamar Brown went under on Friday evening. Game wardens and nearby boaters rescued four swimmers, but Brown never resurfaced.

Department of Natural Resources spokesman Mark McKinnon says Corey Brown wasn't wearing a life jacket on when he jumped in.

Officials say Brown, who could swim, may have become fatigued or experienced shock because of the water's cool temperature.

Divers and crews using sonar are looking for Brown's body Sunday.

A plane searched for him Saturday.

McKinnon says heavy boat traffic, a rocky bottom and varying depths in the area make the search difficult.
