THOMAS COUNTY, Ga. (WCTV) -- Officials in Thomas County say three people were rescued Tuesday from standing rising water from the Ochlockonee River on US Highway 19 near the bridge.
The Thomas County Sheriff's Office says it received a call around 5:30 p.m. regarding three people stranded in the river.
The Thomas County Fire and Swift Rescue Team was able to successfully rescue all three victims.
Deputies say they believe the three went out onto the boat ramp and later realized they were surrounded by rising water.
