VALDOSTA, Ga. (WCTV) -- Three people are in custody after search warrants led to two large drug busts in Valdosta.
The Valdosta Police Department says an investigation was launched after they received numerous complaints over the past several weeks regarding illegal narcotics sales in the 1300 block of Ponderosa Drive.
Detectives identified two suspects believed to be selling the narcotics.
On Thursday, the VPD Narcotics Unit, with the assistance of members of the Power Squad, K-9 Unit, Person’s Crime and Property Crimes Unit, and the Department of Community Supervision, executed search warrants at two residences in the 1300 block of Ponderosa Drive.
At the first residence, detectives seized 253.9 grams of marijuana,22.5 grams of cocaine, and 85.3 grams of Alpha-PVP (Flakka). The total street value of the narcotics seized is approximately $15,858. Detectives arrested Eric Dewayne Williams, 36, and Cory Tyrone Clark, 35, at the residence.
At the second residence, detectives seized 174.9 grams of marijuana, 56 complete Ecstasy pills, 17 partial Ecstasy pills, and 13 tablets of a schedule III Narcotic-Dronabinol. The narcotics have an approximate street value of $4,833. Detectives arrested Leroy Lasignor Romer, 37.
All three suspects were taken to the Lowndes County Jail on various felony drug charges.
VPD Lieutenant Adam Bembry says, "The Valdosta Police Department is grateful to the multiple citizens that came forward to report the illegal narcotics sales that were taking place in an area frequented by local residents and school children. VPD also recognizes the long hours of work by all involved officers and the assistance of the Department of Community Supervision."
