TAMPA, Fla. (WCTV) – Valdosta State head coach Kerwin Bell is heading to the University of South Florida to be the offensive coordinator under Charlie Strong.

Bell spent three seasons at the helm of the Blazers, totaling a 27-7 record and taking VSU to a perfect 14-0 and the Division II crown this past season.

Prior to his time in Titletown, Bell led the Jacksonville University football program, going 66-35 in nine seasons with the Dolphins, and finishing atop the Pioneer Football League in three separate years.

Bell led the Blazers to the fourth-best offense in Division II football in 2018, averaging 523.9 yards per game, and the best scoring offense in the country, averaging 52 points per game.

At South Florida, Bell inherits an offense which averaged 437.7 yards per game, good enough for 33rd in Division I, but struggled to score, averaging just 28.5 points a game, the 69th-best mark in the country.
