VALDOSTA, Ga. (WCTV) -- The Valdosta Fire Department says crews responded to a house fire on Sunday night in the 200 block of North St. Augustine Road.
VFD says the call came in at 8:08 p.m., with units first arriving at 8:11 p.m. Firefighters reported seeing heavy flames coming from the rear half of the home.
Officials say crews discovered three vehicles were parked at the back of the home, which led them to believe that residents may have still been inside the building.
According to VFD, the first arriving unit quickly entered the home and found no one found inside.
VFD says the residents were located at a neighboring business, having been evacuated by civilians before fire units arrived on scene. Officials say the residents have been displaced and are staying with family.
The fire was under control by 8:16 p.m. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
