Red Velvet Cream Cheese Cake


Red Velvet Cake
2 sticks butter softened
1 teaspoon vanilla
11/2 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 oz red food coloring
2 Tbsp coca
1 tsp salt
2 1/3 cup flour
1 cup buttermilk
1 teaspoon soda
1 teaspoon vinegar

Cheese Cake Frosting
1 pkg. (8oz) Cream Cheese, softened
1/3 cup sugar
1 /2 teaspoon vanilla flavor
1/2 teaspoon lemon
1 tub (8oz) Whipped Topping, thawed


Red Velvet Cake
Cream butter and 1 teaspoon vanilla in mixing bowl
Add sugar, beat well
Beat in eggs 1 at a time, beat well after each addition
Stir in next 3 ingredients, mixing well
Add flour, alternating with buttermilk, beating well after each addition
Combine soda and vinegar
Add to batter, mixing well
Pour into 3 greased cake pans
Bake at 350 degrees for 15-20 minutes or until cake is done

Cheese Cake Frosting
Beat cream cheese and sugar in mixer until blended. Remove from mixer, stir in cool whip
Refrigerate for 2 hours
Frost cake
