ATLANTA (AP) -- Atlanta's new stadium has landed another big event.
Major League Soccer announced Monday that its 2018 All-Star Game will be held at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
The announcement came one day after Atlanta United set records for single-game and season attendance. United owner Arthur Blank says "We're honored," and "We will not let you down."
Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed said, "the record is now complete." Mercedes-Benz Stadium is already set to host this season's College Football Playoff championship game, Super Bowl LIII in 2019, and the Men's Final Four in 2020.
