BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WCTV) -- In the second game of a doubleheader on Tuesday afternoon, former FSU infielder Taylor Walls logged a near-historic day for his minor league team.
Walls finished a home run away from logging the first cycle in Bowling Green Hot Rods (Low-A, Tampa Bay Rays) history, as he went 3-for-4 with two runs scored and three RBI in the shortened seven-inning game.
In his final plate appearance, Walls struck out looking.
The Cordele native is slashing .373/.431/.542 through the first 16 games of his 2018 campaign with a home run and six RBI.
In his first professional season last year in shortseason Hudson Valley, Walls slashed .213/.330/.287 with one home run and 21 RBI in 46 games played.
