THOMASVILLE, Ga. (WCTV) -- Last season, the Thomasville Bulldogs finished the regular season a perfect 10-0. Despite a deep playoff push, Zach Grage and the Dawgs fell short of a 2A state title.
With unfinished business in the City of Roses, it'll be up to a freshman quarterback to help get the Bulldogs to Atlanta. 14-year-old Chad Mascoe, an electric duel-threat QB, is set to lead the team.
And, despite his youth, Grage says his quarterback has all the tools to make this team smell like roses.
"He's surpassed any expectations," Grage said. "He'll be our starter heading into the season. He's very special; he has an offer from Florida State, among others, but hasn't taken any snaps yet.
"Physically, he's extremely talented. We're excited to have him and to see what he can do," Grage continued. "We kind of have to keep scaling back on what we want to do because he's 14, he's a freshman and Friday nights are different. They're always an experience."
