ATLANTA, Ga. (WCTV) -- The National Football League has announced the schedule for each of the league's 32 member teams, including the Atlanta Falcons.
Atlanta will help open the NFL's season on Sept. 6 in Philadelphia against the defending champion Philadelphia Eagles, in a matchup that features the two most recent NFC title holders. Atlanta fell to Philly in the second round of the playoffs a season ago.
The Dirty Birds will again be featured in primetime on two other occasions; in Week 7 against the New York Giants on Monday Night Football and on Thanksgiving night for a Thursday Night Football matchup in New Orleans against the arch-rival Saints in Week 12.
Atlanta will participate in their third Thanksgiving game, and first since 2007.
The season opens with five of the first seven games being played at home, and end with four of their last six on the road, including closing the year against division rivals Carolina and Tampa
