ATHENS, Ga. -- Georgia Bulldogs head basketball coach Mark Fox has added to his coaching staff for the 2017-18 season.

David Carter, an assistant basketball coach at St. Mary's College, has previously coached with Fox. The two were on the same coaching staff for five season at Nevada.

"I am very excited to have David joining our coaching staff," said Fox. "He assisted me at the University of Nevada and I aggressively pursued him when this opportunity opened. We have always had a great chemistry and my staff and I welcome his expertise."

A native of Los Angeles, Carter spent 16 total seasons with the Wolfpack, including his last six as a head coach, where he went 98-97 and competed in the NCAA Tournament twice.

Carter was named the Don Haskins Western Athletic Conference Coach of the Year in 2012 following a 28-7 record with Nevada, leading the program to a WAC title.

Carter is taking the spot of Yasir Rosemond, who left the Bulldogs to join the coaching staff at Alabama in May.
