MIAMI, Fla. (WCTV) -- New York Yankees outfielder Aaron Judge took home the 2017 Home Run Derby at Marlins Park in Miami to open the All-Star Game festivities.
Judge defeated the Minnesota Twins' Miguel Sano in the final round, 11-10, to capture his first Home Run Derby crown. He becomes the first Yankee to win the event since Robinson Cano won in 2011 in Arizona.
On his way to the title, Judge defeated the Marlins' Justin Bour (23-22) and the Dodgers' Cody Bellinger (13-12).
Marlins star, and defending champion, Giancarlo Stanton was eliminated in the first round, 17-16, by Yankees catcher Gary Sanchez.
