NORMAN PARK, Ga. (WALB) - One person was killed and two men are facing murder charges in a dispute turned shooting, according to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI).

Thomas Montgomery Weeks and Jeffery Lynn Weeks have been charged with malice murder, felony murder, aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, burglary and home invasion in connection to the death of John Asbery Taylor, 35.

Shortly after midnight on Tuesday, the Colquitt County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 2000 block of Ellenton Norman Park Road. When deputies arrived, they found a man dead from a gunshot wound, later identified as Taylor, and another, later identified as Thomas, was injured from a gunshot.

The GBI said Taylor got into an argument with another person. Later, the GBI said the two Weeks men went to confront Taylor at his home and gunshots were exchanged.

Taylor lived on the same property in a separate residence from the Weeks and was related to the two men, according to GBI.

The two men were booked into the Colquitt County Jail.

An autopsy will be done at the GBI Crime Lab.

The GBI said the investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to call the GBI at (229) 225-4090 or the Colquitt County Sheriff’s Office at (229) 616-7460.
