TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) - Valentine’s Day is soon approaching and you may be scrambling to make plans or opting to celebrate in the comfort of your home. One Tallahassee chef visited the WCTV studios to talk about some dishes that can be made at home; and of course, made with love.

Sam Burgess is the owner of Pineappetit in Tallahassee. The restaurant, food truck and catering business is known for its fresh pineapple bowls and island-inspired dishes.

The chef said for those planning to celebrate Valentine’s Day at home instead of going out, there are plenty of meals to cook as a special gesture for your sweetheart.

“If you want to start the day off right on Valentine’s Day, cook your spouse some breakfast,” Burgess said.

Watch the video above as he shares his Vanilla Brioche Strawberry French Toast recipe that will serve as a sweet breakfast option to kick off the holiday.

Burgess also has a cookbook filled with drinks, appetizers and dinner recipes to try at home.
