TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) - Entering their fourth year and now three coaches in, the Thomas University football program is hoping the third times the charm and what can get this program rolling. Dan Pippin is the new head coach of the Night Hawks, a guy familiar with the team as he was there last year as the program’s offensive coordinator.

TU with a blank slate in a new head coach, and as a program. Pippin telling us he’s brought in 102 new guys, guys that are starting with a blank slate after this program went 0-11 last year.

He said he’s excited to see them compete, after all, there’s no expectations outside of their locker room.

“I’m just excited to see some guys play. We’ve been given the opportunity to go play a great Division II program in Carson-Newman,” he said. “When I as in South Carolina, they recruited a bunch of my players. I’m just excited to see our guys play, just compete. That’s a big deal man. Our guys get to go out and compete against other people, a great program. We have an unbelievable opportunity I don’t think anyone expects anything from us, except us, and that’s kind of cool.”

Kickoff at Carson-Newman set for Thursday night at 6:00.
