TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) - April is Financial Literacy Month and the 25th is ‘Teach Children To Save Day.’

A Bankrate study shows, 56% of Americans wouldn’t be able to pay for an emergency expense of $1,000 or more from their savings account.

Dr. Inger Daniels-Hollar stopped by the WCTV studio to talk about the importance of financial literacy for young people. She is an assistant professor at the School of Business and Industry at FAMU along with Dr. Samique March-Dallas an associate professor.

We also spoke to two of their student ambassadors, Ninah Pierce and Donovan Bryant, about their experiences with the program and the impact it has on students in our area.
