Tracking scattered storms in our region as Beryl nears the Texas coast

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) - The forecast stays consistent in the Big Bend and South Georgia this weekend. We stay warm and muggy with scattered showers and thunderstorms. However, to our west, Tropical Storm Beryl is approaching the Texas coast.

Tonight Through Sunday Night

Evening showers and storms should begin to fade away after sunset, and we are tracking mainly dry and muggy weather overnight. Low temperatures only fall into the upper-70s under a partly to mostly cloudy sky. Some areas of patchy fog are possible.

Our “copy and paste” forecast will stick around to end the weekend. Highs top out in the mid-and-lower-90s under a mix of Sun and clouds. Heat index values climb above 100º at times. Scattered showers and thunderstorms are possible, especially during the afternoon and evening, but it will not rain all day.

We are trending drier for Sunday night under a partly to mostly cloudy sky. Again, lows are mild and muggy. We only dip into the mid-and-upper-70s.

Kicking Off The Work Week

Our unsettled weather pattern will continue to start the new work week with scattered storm chances.

Highs on Monday top out in the lower-90s under a partly sunny sky. Scattered showers and storms are possible. Lows are back in the upper-70s.

We are tracking more of the same on Tuesday. Again, scattered storms are possible, but it will not rain all day. Temperatures hover in the lower-90s under a mix of Sun and clouds. Lows stay in the mid-and-upper-70s.

Isolated showers and storms are possible on Wednesday, but the coverage does not look as widespread. Highs remain in the lower-90s under a partly cloudy sky, and lows bottom out in the mid-and-upper-70s.

Extended Forecast

As we end the next work week, we are tracking more hot and muggy weather with isolated thunderstorms.

Temperatures on Thursday rebound into the mid-90s under a mix of Sun and clouds. Spotty storms are possible, but it will not rain everywhere. Lows fall into the mid-and-upper-70s.

Friday’s forecast does not change much. Spotty showers and storms are possible under a partly cloudy sky. Highs reach the mid-90s, and lows remain in the mid-70s.
