Tallahassee florist shows how to make a beautiful Valentine’s Day bouquet

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) - Valentine’s Day is only three days away and time is running out to get something for your loved one. Local florist, Rebecca Vernon shared how to create a beautiful floral bouquet at home.

Vernon runs A Country Rose Florist, located in the heart of the Capital City. She said if you’re thinking of ordering flowers or an arrangement, to order as soon as possible.

The florist said this time of year gets really busy at the shop with countless orders coming in and phones ringing off the hook for Valentine’s Day orders.

“I think I’m on day 9 of a 13-day stretch,” Vernon said. “We work all the way through the weekend, so there are lots of hours put in to make these beautiful arrangements for everyone.”

Staff will be making deliveries in the Tallahassee area Friday morning. Roses are the most popular request, according to the store manager. “Red roses mean love and that’s where people go because that’s what Valentine’s Day is about and so the demand is unbelievable,” Vernon said.

It’s important to support local florists she said. That support goes a long way in our community.

“We are a family-owned and operated business right here in Tallahassee,” Vernon said. “You’re not only supporting my mother who owns the flower shop, but you’re supporting my family and many local families.”
